Cressi's legacy of innovation began in 1939 with two brothers who shared a passion for the sea. Egidio and Nanni Cressi founded the Cressi company in Genoa, Italy in 1946, after their designs and products had become increasingly popular for allowing them to move and hunt more efficiently in the waters near their home. The company has a 60-year history of groundbreaking product development, including the Pinnochio mask, the dive mask with a dedicated nose pocket for easier equalization, and the Rondine freediving fin, with its innovative long blade for maximum efficiency.

Cressi's frameless masks are loved by many divers for their low-profile and ability to fold flat for easy carrying, even in a BC pocket. Their frameless design bonds a high-grade silicone skirt directly to a single lens for the ultimate in simplicity. The lens is made of tempered glass and certified by the CE (Communauté Européenne). The low-internal volume allows for effortless clearing and quick-adjust strap buckles are molded directly into the skirt for a flexible fit and reduced drag. Additionally, the F1 represents an unbeatable value, with a cost roughly half that of similar masks.
